About

Towards Distant Suns is a blog started by me to discuss the things that I am most passionate about, such as topics in astronomy (especially in the rapidly-growing field of exoplanets), astrobiology, and the exploration and settlement of space. It's also a way for me to document my journey from student to scientist as I begin my final years of undergraduate study at Penn State. Currently I'm majoring in Geoscience, but I'll eventually be switching my major to Astronomy and Astrophysics. Once I complete my undergrad studies, I plan to complete a Ph.D either in Planetary Science or Astrophysics. I want to research exoplanets and the their properties, and help to fill in our understanding of these alien worlds. I also want to study the more familiar worlds in our Solar System, such as Mars and Titan. I have an intense passion for science, and I'm a vigorous supporter of manned space exploration and settlement. It is my hope that I will be able to inspire in those that read this blog the same enthusiasm about space and science as I have.
